Beautiful World

Tales of traveling and yearning for home

A book that makes you want to go on a journey in your mind.

For the WDR travel show “Wunderschön!” (Beautiful!) Andrea Grießmann travels around the world and in the “Planet Wissen” (Planet knowledge) show she shines a light on interesting topics and meets fascinating guests. She is a woman who likes to get to the bottom of things and at the same time is full of humour. Her laugh is contagious. In the stories in her books, she shares her personal treasure trove of experience. She tells of moving meetings around the world, an air balloon flight in Morocco, discoveries in Mexico, walks along lonely mountain paths and how she ate termites in Namibia. But in this book, she also goes on a journey to her inner self. Andrea Grießmann writes about personal values and islands of strength in life. She loves finding peace in old churches. And for her the word “home” is a multifaceted term. She spent her childhood and youth in Barcelona, Buenos Aires and Franconia (Germany), where she went to school. Later, she moved more than a dozen times throughout Germany. Eventually, she realised that you don’t have to travel far to find yourself. And that home is also a decision.
