This is not how former actor Björn Kupernikus imagined his retirement - or maybe it is? He has barely made himself comfortable at the idyllic Himmelreich campsite when he has to rescue a small dog floating on a paddleboard in the middle of the lake. Kupernikus pulls the animal to shore - and with it a corpse that has been elaborately strapped under the board. Although the police assume it was an accident, the officers don't seem particularly experienced. What's more, if you want to find out something in the kingdom of heaven, you need someone who knows their way around the campsite microcosm. That's clear, Kupernikus has to do it himself - after all, camping is in his blood and he has spent his life meticulously preparing for the role of crime scene commissioner. He is supported by Annabelle, a well-travelled artist who knows the strangest things, lives locally and therefore has a good connection to the locals.

"I love campsites. Because that's where all-too-human things with unexpected abysses condense into wonderfully curious stories." Andreas Winkelmann
