Prof. Dr. Dr. Frank Schneider ist Psychiater, Psychologe und Psychotherapeut sowie Neurowissenschaftler. Er war Professor für Psychiatrie, Psychotherapie und Psychosomatik an der RWTH Aachen, Direktor am Institut für Neurowissenschaften und Medizin am Forschungszentrum Jülich und Ärztlicher Direktor am Uniklinikum Düsseldorf. Gegenwärtig ist er an der Universität Düsseldorf tätig. Schneider war Präsident und ist Ehrenmitglied der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Psychiatrie und Psychotherapie, Psychosomatik und Nervenheilkunde (DGPPN) und Schriftleiter der Fachzeitschrift »Der Nervenarzt«. Für seine Arbeit wurde er mit zahlreichen Preisen ausgezeichnet, u. a. mit der Griesinger Medaille der Berliner Gesellschaft für Psychiatrie und Neurologie, dem Preis "Gegen Vergessen – Für Demokratie" und mit dem Bundesverdienstkreuz am Bande.
