Detective Chief Inspector Mara Eisfeld has to deal with two unpleasant matters at once: in addition to the mediation talks at the youth welfare office, which her estranged husband Matti insists on attending to make the separation as easy as possible for their son, her father also turns up in town unannounced. Then, in the middle of Berlin, in broad daylight, the investigative journalist Peter Hester is shot dead by a passing motorbike. At first, everything points to an act of revenge by the powerful Tiznit drug gang, but as Mara delves deeper into the investigation, the connections become increasingly confusing – and soon the case develops a momentum that demands everything from the homicide detective...
