Major anniversary: Cult police inspector Julia Durant solves her 25th case
A murder case presents Julia Durant with a mystery: the victim, a naturalist, seems to have a proverbially clean record. The only thing that stands out is that a large part of his technical equipment is missing. It takes a lucky break for the investigators to make any headway: one of the victim's bird-watching cameras, which is connected to an external server, recorded the sexual assault of a minor.
Shortly afterwards, another person is found dead, and once again, a mobile phone and computer are taken from the scene. This time, the victim is a prominent politician. Evidence points to links with a paedophile network. However, the investigation is proving difficult. Julia Durant is increasingly confronted with legal obstacles and bureaucratic pitfalls. When a schoolgirl is reported missing, she is forced to enter into an unholy alliance...
