Desired destination Sylt: the start of a great saga about a café in Keitum
Despite losing their parents in a storm tide at a young age, sisters Matei and Elin grow up in a sheltered and loving environment with Captain Paul Hansen and his wife Anna. But when Paul suddenly dies at the start of 1914, it becomes clear that there is hardly any money left. Anna starts letting guest rooms to artists and together with the girls, she hatches the idea of opening a coffee garden. On a beautiful summer day, they are ready to open and the house is again full of happy voices. But happiness has only just returned to the Hansens when the First World War casts its dark shadow.
