Stories of happiness from the monastery garden.
Brother Felix has found his happiness in the garden. He has been a gardener at the Beuron monastery in the Danube valley for 38 years. Year in, year out Brother Felix, sews, tends and harvests vegetables, herbs and flowers. Brother Felix makes wine from artichokes, skin cream from calendula and snaps from fruits. If you want to make fine spirits from ripe fruits, such as apples, quinces and cherries, you need time, patience and affection. Felix has these qualities. And his observations on the growth, blooming and ripening. The sprouting and dying back shows us what life is really about and how we can find our happiness in simple, natural things.
