While Sabine Kaufmann attempts to unravel the strange circumstances of her mother’s suicide, Ralph Angersbach is investigating the murder of an estate owner. Ralph assumes it is a case of old animosities, but he struggles to engage with the taciturn villagers. He spontaneously asks Sabine for help, and the pair discover a strange similarity between the suicide and the murder: at both places where the bodies were found a conciliation cross stands. Pure coincidence?
