Give Responsibility Back to the Children

Climbing trees? Walking to school without adult supervision? Playing outside on their own in the afternoon or wandering around town? Only a few children and young adults enjoy such liberties because today’s parents are firmly in the grip of fear. And even the schools don’t allow the children much freedom with increasingly more material to learn, less wriggle room and even less creativity. The result: Young people lacking independence, who find it hard to make decisions on their own and to take responsibility for themselves. But it can also be done differently! With a clear perspective and much sensitivity, Felix Nattermann shows what is really important for children and how parents and teachers can find a way out of the helicopter trap by giving the responsibility back to the children so that they grow into self-confident adults.
