One Morning in Our Kingdom

Like no other German author, Gernot Gricksch understands how to tell a story that makes men laugh and women cry (sometimes the other way round). Arne’s story is one of those: The fact that he ended up with Jehova’s Witnesses must have been one of God’s special jokes, he being the fun-loving, flaky guy full of crazy ideas that he is. He doesn’t actually want to stay long, but then he meets Johanna. And actually the two of them and their love for one another that goes against all conventions, do manage to bring changes to the small community. Yet not everyone is keen. And it is just a matter of time before Arne and Johanna have to make a big decision.
