Rome in the swinging sixties - a city of film stars and criminals, exorcists, old nobility and corrupt politicians. Student Anna joins a group of paparazzi in order to hunt her mother’s murderer incognito. At the same time, private detective Gennaro Palladino is trying to solve the death of a crazy painter. Their search takes Anna and young photographer, Spartaco, through palaces and deserted villas and into film studios and notorious jazz clubs. While high society bathes in champagne and government opponents plan revolution, dark powers are pulling the strings. They want to see the resurrection of ancient Rome no matter the cost.
