The Master: The Beginning

For centuries, the healer Geneve Cornelius has striven for neutrality in her family’s eternal feud with the executioner dynasty of the Bugattis. But then her brother is brutally beheaded in the backyard of a London pub. An act of revenge that is supposed to fuel the age-old dispute between the executioner families Bugatti and Cornelius - or so it seems. For at the same time, eerie incidents are mounting in Geneve’s hometown of Leipzig. The Other World with its mystical creatures is in turmoil. The immortal healer suspects that a decision lies ahead of her. Will she maintain her neutrality or will she, against all her convictions, take up the fight against the unknown threat and perhaps meet her death in the process? As in The Devil's Playbook Markus Heitz skillfully combines elements of fantasy, history, thriller and horror to an action-packed story in The Master.
