Wide sky, wild river

  • For fans of historical novels set in rarely told locations – Russia at the beginning of the 19th century
  • From the SPIEGEL bestseller author who won the HOMER literary prize for the first volume of her Volga trilogy!

The emigration saga along the Volga comes to an end with the final volume of the bestselling trilogy!

Russia at the beginning of the 19th century. The settlement founded by the Weber sisters two generations ago has changed. Once built and blossomed by the hope of finding love and happiness, the inhabitants now have to face the next threat that history imposes on them: Napoleon's campaign against Russia. But not only the political situation, but also personal destinies threaten their happiness. Christina has established herself as a fashion empress in St. Petersburg, but must prove herself against an unexpected rival. Eleonora wants nothing more than to return to her homeland, but a serious illness thwarts her plans. Amelie Mai must keep her forbidden love for a married man a secret, and Frannek Müller goes to war against Napoleon. A long time passes and Klara is the only Weber sister left, who must now fight alone to ensure that her family's legacy continues to survive.

In the thrilling finale to the Volga Trilogy, HOMER literature award winner Martina Sahler takes enthusiastic readers back to the vast expanses of Russia and delves one last time into the gripping and emotional story of the Weber sisters.
