Confetti & Tears

When the lump on five-year old Helen’s head does not disappear and a bone tumour is diagnosed, the nightmare begins. Nicole and Frank Heinrichs refused to utter the word cancer for four years, as it meant death and no hope. And yet that is how it turned out: In the end Helen did not stand a chance. She died at the age of nine. Nicole Heinrichs portrays the life and suffering of her daughter in a deeply moving manner: The fear, the anger, but also the joy and the small moments of pure happiness that the family was able to have. And she also recounts how she and her husband found a way to live with this terrible loss and to maintain the memory of their beloved daughter.
