Grandma Feline lives alone »behind the dike« by the North Sea. Her only friend is Hajo. A tragic misunderstanding led to his son Maik cutting off contact with him, but he doesn’t want to talk about it. Meanwhile, Feline cares for her animal friends, Anton the fox, Fritz the hedgehog, and Martin the stag – even though she is considered eccentric in the nearby village because of it. One day, the 8-year-old twins Jonte and Jelda observe Feline feeding Martin. Gradually, the children befriend her and Hajo.
