Friend of Fate

  • When something is kept secret that may not be forgotten
  • When a family secret not only threatens a friendship but also your own identity

37-year-old Miriam Tiedtke from Hamburg is only travelling to Krakow in order to support her best friend Zofia, whose mother has suddenly died. But while Zofia takes care of the formalities, there is not much for Miriam to do. So one day, she decides to visit Oskar Schindler’s factory museum. There, it is not only the evidence of the unimaginable horrors that deeply shake Miriam; on an old photo she discovers something that shakes everything - her knowledge of her family history, the certainty of who she is and not least her friendship with Zofia, whose grandfather died in Płaszów concentration camp.
